3D Asset Modelling - Ornate Music Box

A full range of renders for my final 3D asset design, which was conceptualized, modelled, textured and rendered from scratch.
I wanted to create a small but detailed 3D model completely from my own design which would not only showcase good topology, but effective texturing and rendering also. I modelled the entire asset in Maya and 3DS Max, Zbrush for the organic Ballerina and textured the entire model in Substance and Photoshop. To render I used Arnold within Maya.

The idea for this was to compact a small and miniature element of detail within a hard surface object, such as a music box that would be filled with something fantastical and out of the ordinary. I wanted to include water within, so the idea for a pond with fish and lily-pads inside was used to further expand on this idea.
